Dripping in pungent, dream-sweat erotica, this tense historical fiction/fantasy fully deserves its album-sized format.

With the embers of a puritan village's latest witch-burning pyre still smoldering, the otherwise dutiful wife of an austere patrician succumbs to the insistent, persistent, nocturnal seduction of an other. (Sic) Whom do you trust when you could be the very next target of superstition or spite?

Cloonan you'll know from BY CHANCE OR BY PROVIDENCE, a collection of similarly set period pieces which we originally sold as self-published singles. I've said it before, but Becky doesn't draw hair, she draws tresses, and her command of her chosen period is perfect.

Tula Lotay's soporific, soft-lit sfumato over and around more neoclassical forms is as liminal as you like. I'm actually minded of Jon J Muth's much missed DRACULA: A SYMPHONY IN MOONLIGHT, but it's so long since I looked at my copy that I might have got its name wrong, let alone the comparison.

Mesmerizing.
