One of the funniest comics series that has ever brought tears to my eyes, GIRL is bursting with mischief, astutely observed socio-political satire and dialogue to die for. British council estates, boring telliy, godawful parents, elevator assignations, and a very important wig.

Duncan Fegredo is one of my very favourite British artists of all time. His gesticulations are so communicative and his hands have all the weight of a Rodin sculpture. Not only that, but every item of street clothing he draws has its own distinctive identity, hanging differently depending on what fabric it's made from.

This is all from memory, mind. As I say, it's not been collected since the three issues first appeared before, I think, Page 45 even opened 26 years ago.
